From Rome
Benevento
is located 200 miles South-Est from Rome. The best way to get to Benevento from
Rome is to catch a train at the train Central Train Station, Roma Termini.
Rome
International Airport Fiumicino is located about 20miles away from the downtown
(55min by bus, 35min by train). There are buses and trains that provide
connection with Roma Termini. Listed below few links that can help you choose
what will work better for your trip:

A possibility is the Terravision bus, it is cheaper
and it will get you there in a reasonably amount of time; the train is more
expensive but it will definitely be faster. Both transports will bring you
directly to the Central Station.
You are supposed to arrive in Benevento May 20, but if you decide to get
in Rome few days before this date, here are few links I suggest you if you are
looking for hotels close to the Central Station:

I have been in both the hotel, rooms are cheap but clean and if you want
to spend few days in Rome and visit the city, they are located 40min by walking
from touristic attractions like Colosseum. There are plenty of hotels in the
neighborhood and they are all very close to the Train Station, here a simple
map:
Right in front of the
accommodations that I suggest there is the Yellow bar, one of the few place
where you get the chance to order directly in English; I used to go there when
I was in Rome just for speaking in English with tourists and waiters. The trip
is going to be long and if you are getting homesick, it can be more comfortable
for you to have a close English “ish” environment.
Train to Benevento
There are two different kind of train
from Rome to Benevento:
· Regionale, cheaper but slower,
tickets for this train usually costs 15 euros ish;
· Freccia Argento
(literally means silver arrow), it is faster but more expensive (prices can go
from 25 to 50 euros); I strictly suggest buying your ticket in advance, it is
going to be cheaper and you are going to ensure yourself a sit!
